Nonchalance is Calculation - Part 3


Ruby finally decided on dress pants and a nice blouse. It made her feel ten years older than she was, but she was trying to impress an older boss, so it seemed like the right choice.

The dry cleaner was in an upscale area of town. Ruby enjoyed the commute because it seemed like she was traveling through a national forest. She could see the beginning of driveways but no houses. It was so early that the fog made it seem like she was driving through a fairy tale.

When she got to the business, she wished she could park her car blocks away and walk up, but that would probably look worse. She parked a few spaces down, closer to the vape store, and approached the door of her new job. Her new life.
