She turned on her bedside lamp and looking around in the dim light. Her room was sparse. There were things she could get rid of in the closet; she wore the same outfits every week. 

The kitchen was cluttered - she was a sucker for kitchen gadgets advertised as making life easy. She could get rid of those; she never used them after the first time or two. They claimed to be efficient, but she preferred pots and pans and always went back to them.

She got out of bed and began sorting through her belongings.
