Hunger - Part 4


She stared at the stack of printed pictures. She loved to shuffle them, deal them out, try to name the year or the premier he was attending. It was like a game, but she still needed more.

She nibbled the edge of a photo and found it not unpleasant, so she ripped off a bigger bite. Then she began crumpling every photo into a size that would fit comfortably in her mouth, pass easily down her throat. When the stack was gone she finally felt full, after so many years of hunger; she realized she'd have to buy more ink.
